At NIST, C@tnist has cat traps which we set up throughout our main building, the HUB. We set the traps during thursday's meetings and we leave them there. Our traps have some cat food that is put on a pressure plate, when stepped on, a mechanism closes the cage door so that the cats can't escape, Friday morning teachers come and check for cats, & if they're any then they wait till' the end of Friday and pack them in a truck so that they will be sent to the vets on Saturday. If the cats have been caught already, we will be able to tell by looking at the ear since they have a part of skin cut off and they're released back into our campus. If it's a new cat them the vets spay/ neuter and cut off some ear skin then they're released back. This is the TNR process. Our trapping image is on the right
